Do I need my bike to be declared as SORN?
Yes, for this type of insurance policy the bike should be SORN or in process of being declared SORN.
What is covered with a Laid Up insurance policy?
A Laid Up insurance policy covers you for loss or damage as a result of fire or theft.
Does this Laid Up insurance policy cover my bike on the road?
No, this type of insurance policy does not cover your bike on the road. If you wish to use your bike on the road please see the other scooter and motorcycle insurance products we have available.
To insure my bike, do I need to be the legal owner?
Yes, we only provide cover if you are the legal owner.
My bike is modified, does this matter?
We will look at each case on an individual basis, but you must let us know of any modifications on the bike.
Do I need the correct licence for the bike I have on cover?
Yes, we do require you to have the correct licence for the bike you want covered.
Are Laid Up insurance policies all 12 months?
Yes, we can only offer 12 months Laid Up insurance policies.
Where can my I store my bike when covered with Laid Up insurance?
We ask for your bike to be kept either in a garage or outbuilding. If your bike will need to be kept on a driveway or on private land then we would consider it on an individual basis depending on the area.

What is Laid Up or SORN insurance?
Sometimes it is necessary to take your bike off the road and declare it as SORN (Statutory Off Road Notice). From storing it during the winter months to restoration projects, there are many reasons for taking scooters and motorcycles off the road, because the vehicle isn't on the road you may not need a normal bike insurance policy.
